This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Conduct and deliver impactful research.
• Collaborate with the Data Center team to produce high-quality research in the form of reports, trackers, forecasts, and presentations.
• Formulate and test hypotheses that challenge prevailing beliefs in the market to offer unique insights.
• Utilize all available tools and knowledge to generate analyses that provide Omdia with a competitive advantage beyond mere description.
• Promote high-level industry expertise.
• Leverage your knowledge and experience to define and broaden a specific area of research.
• Advocate that expertise at a senior level with our clients and prospects.
• Respond promptly to market events and provide current opinions based on extensive experience.
• Cultivate and sustain client relationships.
• Over time, as you advance in your career at Omdia and Informa TechTarget, expand and strengthen your network of client connections.
• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to these clients.
• Ensure effective client management.
• Build and nurture ongoing relationships with clients.
• Represent Omdia and Informa TechTarget, showcasing your expertise in Data Centers while maintaining a broader perspective on the technology ecosystem and its contribution to business outcomes.
• Support sales, marketing, product management, and PR teams.
• Engage in client-facing meetings alongside the sales team to enhance the credibility of Omdia and Informa TechTarget partnerships.
• Increase involvement in strategic planning.
• Provide insights during planning meetings. Collaborate closely with the Practice Leader and Research Directors to steer the strategy of the team. By understanding client needs through senior-level relationships, develop a customer-focused perspective on new products and advisory services.
• More than 10 years of professional experience.
• Background in the data center ecosystem, whether as an industry analyst or within the broader ecosystem.
• Strong technical comprehension and insights into the data center ecosystem, enabling quick formulation of credible, distinctive, and original opinions on its evolution.
• Proficiency in quantitative research, including the ability to build, maintain, and enhance market forecasts and trackers, while presenting complex data trends in an engaging manner.
• Exceptional written communication skills, capable of synthesizing intricate ideas.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities, characterized by a personable demeanor and the confidence to engage and influence executives at the highest levels of the industry.
• Capability to build and enhance a profile with industry contacts and opinion leaders.
• An existing network of industry contacts would be highly advantageous.
• Proficient in quickly identifying and articulating critical issues that affect the commercial performance of Omdia’s vendor clients across the data center ecosystem.
• Experience collaborating with sales and marketing teams to recognize and effectively seize business development opportunities.
• A proven ability to manage workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks and exceed client expectations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Cultural sensitivity, as the role entails working with global clients and participating in a global virtual team environment.
