This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the client relationship, ensuring realization, utilization, NPS, retention, and growth for a comprehensive portfolio of nonprofit clients.
• Act as the main strategic advisor and relationship manager for Executive Directors, boards, and nonprofit leadership teams.
• Identify and proactively mitigate account risks.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting within budget constraints.
• Develop and execute strategic financial plans that align with client missions and goals.
• Lead presentations for boards and finance committees, along with financial reporting.
• Create financial models to evaluate program sustainability, growth decisions, and funding scenarios.
• Develop long-range cash forecasts, capital planning strategies, and reserve approaches.
• Oversee grant strategies, funding diversification planning, and support for major funder relationships.
• Assist in restructuring, mergers, and strategic partnership initiatives.
• Maintain connections with auditors, attorneys, bankers, and other external partners.
• Identify opportunities for expansion within the existing client portfolio.
• Lead, manage, and ensure accountability among delivery team members for relationships, metrics, quality, timeliness, capacity, and EOS commitments.
• Conduct interviews and evaluate candidates.
• Foster the development of team members through feedback, coaching, and growth discussions.
• Deliver high-quality CFO services with strategic depth.
• Ensure the delivery team is provided with direction, context, and support.
• Proactively escalate relevant issues and personnel matters to the Managing Director.
• Complete time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly Rocks.
• Engage in the Brand Ambassador program.
• Adhere to security practices that protect client assets and firm data.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Over 12 years of progressive financial leadership experience within nonprofits.
• Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) setting is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record in executive-level financial advisory and client relationship management.
• Extensive knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, audit management, and grant compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams through LMA.
• Exceptional communication skills for board-level interactions and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) is preferred.
• Capability to manage client relationships, outcomes, and accountabilities effectively.
• Proficiency in managing team capacity and proactively escalating issues.
