Certified Welding Inspector II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Certified Welding Inspectors primarily engage in construction-related inspections, necessitating specific certifications and/or experience.

• Conduct daily inspections of construction projects to ensure quality and compliance with building codes, construction drawings, and project specifications.

• Inspections may encompass various disciplines or focus on a specific area of expertise, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and more.

• Inspections may involve visual and physical assessments as well as field testing to confirm adherence to plans and specifications.

• Generate inspection reports and provide comprehensive documentation of observations and material testing.

• Relay findings to engineers or project managers and, when necessary, collaborate with the project team to address potential issues.

• Maintain compliance with stringent safety standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology is preferred.

• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in construction inspection is required.

• A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be necessary.

• Required Qualifications include:

• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

• American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT), along with one of the following certifications: Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

• Successful completion of relevant internal safety certifications.

• Preferred Qualifications include:

• Certifications in areas such as NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils).

• NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist).

• ICC certification in Reinforced Concrete, Spray-applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed/Post-Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel – Bolting, and Structural Steel – Welding.
