This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
β’ Certified Welding Inspectors primarily engage in construction-related inspections, necessitating specific certifications and/or experience.
β’ Conduct daily inspections of construction projects to ensure quality and compliance with building codes, construction drawings, and project specifications.
β’ Inspections may encompass various disciplines or focus on a specific area of expertise, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and more.
β’ Inspections may involve visual and physical assessments as well as field testing to confirm adherence to plans and specifications.
β’ Generate inspection reports and provide comprehensive documentation of observations and material testing.
β’ Relay findings to engineers or project managers and, when necessary, collaborate with the project team to address potential issues.
β’ Maintain compliance with stringent safety standards.
β’ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
β’ An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in construction inspection is required.
β’ A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be necessary.
β’ Required Qualifications include:
β’ American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
β’ American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT), along with one of the following certifications: Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
β’ Successful completion of relevant internal safety certifications.
β’ Preferred Qualifications include:
β’ Certifications in areas such as NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils).
β’ NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist).
β’ ICC certification in Reinforced Concrete, Spray-applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed/Post-Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel β Bolting, and Structural Steel β Welding.
