This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Evaluate clinical and demographic data from health records to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Examine and interpret medical records to allocate diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient services.
• Implement coding standards in line with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
• Detect documentation discrepancies and initiate queries for clarification.
• Address routine coding edits and raise inquiries to ensure precise and compliant code assignments.
• Uphold productivity and accuracy benchmarks while handling assigned work queues.
• Assist in the prompt resolution of coding-related inquiries.
• Collaborate effectively with coding team members and internal stakeholders.
• Convey documentation requirements and coding inquiries to relevant parties.
• Employ coding resources and references to address routine challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
• Accurately complete assigned coding tasks within designated timelines.
• Adhere to established workflows and identify basic areas for operational efficiency.
• Adjust to updates in coding guidelines, tools, and payer requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One of the following certifications: AHIMA-CCA, AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CPC-A, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC.
• Apply ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for outpatient encounters with low complexity.
• Utilize coding guidelines and payer regulations for accurate and compliant code assignments.
• Review documentation, identify deficiencies, and initiate clarification when necessary.
• Resolve routine coding edits.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards within assigned work queues.
