This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage and adjust claims of moderate to high complexity.
• Investigate, negotiate, and resolve medium to high complexity claims via phone and written communication.
• Interpret the wordings of insurance policies to determine coverage and reserves.
• Maintain detailed documentation of claim files, including notes, evaluations, and the decision-making process.
• Ensure timely and fair settlement of claims by adhering to established processes and recommendations.
• Process payments within the defined authority limits.
• Negotiate with insured parties, claimants, and insurers.
• Identify, suggest, and implement changes or improvements to claims policies, practices, and procedures as directed by the manager.
• Achieve productivity, customer service, and quality goals for National Claims and the relevant discipline.
• Communicate with empathy to guide customers through the claims process.
• Negotiate claim settlements following the standard methodologies of the business unit.
• Participate in Queue Responsibility.
• Offer guidance to Claims Assistants.
• Collaborate as a member of the National Catastrophe Claims team to fulfill ACG and Claim Department performance standards.
• 3–5 years of experience in handling medium to large loss complex residential property claims.
• CIP Designation or currently pursuing it.
• Experience in adjusting single peril auto claims.
• IICRC Certification or currently enrolled in the program.
• HAAG Certification or currently enrolled in the program.
• Capability to review, critique, and negotiate reconstruction estimates.
• Proficient in Xactimate and Guidewire software.
• Stratum 1 Information Processing Capability.
• Ability to manage a high volume of claims, with approximately 125+ pending.
• Bilingualism is considered an asset.
