Caption Translator – English to French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• This position is offered as a remote opportunity.

• We are seeking a Caption/Subtitle Translator to become a part of our project team.

• You will collaborate with fellow translators and report directly to the project manager.

• Your primary responsibilities will include translating captions and subtitles, performing Machine Translation Post Editing (MTPE), and engaging in transcreation, among other tasks.

• To excel in this position, you should possess a natural understanding of the target language along with a solid command of grammar.

• Translate content for captions/subtitles, documents, web pages, and software applications.

• Address and correct cultural translation errors arising from Machine Translation (MTPE).

• Have the capability to adjust translations while adhering to a limited word count without losing the intended meaning.

• Manage the translation database utilizing Translation Management Software.

• Ensure quality assurance throughout the translation process.

• Work with diverse media and various translation software.

• Tackle challenges related to translation, localization, and cultural nuances.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide translation services.

• Implement feedback and adjustments whenever feasible.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in communications or linguistics is required.

• At least four years of experience in the translation industry.

• Proficient in using any Translation Management System tools and software.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the translation process, relevant terminology, and localization techniques.

• Familiarity with localization guidelines and standards.

• Capability to translate written materials into a second language.

• Strong translation, writing, and communication abilities.

• Fluency in at least two of the target languages.

• Ability to perform under tight deadlines.

• Additional certification in Linguistics is an advantage.
