C++ Software Engineer – Speech Recognition, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with a diverse and innovative team from around the globe.

• Create speech recognition software tailored for electronic medical records.

• Collect and process audio using microphones or mobile devices.

• Implement cloud-based voice recognition (streaming audio across the network and obtaining text results).

• Ensure network security and encryption for both at-rest and streaming data.

• Configure recognition settings (e.g., through grammars and various software configurations).

• Process text post-recognition (e.g., formatting spoken dates as per your preference).

• Facilitate features and requirements for higher-level software applications, such as voice-enabled clinical document editors and clinical dictation tools.

• Gather requirements and break down Epic items into actionable tickets.

• Implement features and conduct unit/integration testing.

• Provide input during code reviews and communicate any identified defects effectively.

• Attend team meetings via videoconferencing.

• Participate in monthly release builds and provide in-house/customer support.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university -OR- a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution coupled with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the software industry.

• At least three (3) years of experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java, or similar).

• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, as well as unit testing.

• Experience with multi-threaded programming.

• A Master's degree in software engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution (considered an additional qualification).

• Proficient in writing: C++ / bash; reading: C#, Java, Objective C, Node.js.

• Knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, and Android.

• Experience with change management tools: Git / GitHub / Jira.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools: Jenkins / Conan / Ant / Ivy / Artifactory / Nexus.

• Experience with deployment technologies: Docker / Kubernetes / Kaniko / Terraform / AWS.

• Proficiency in other tools: VS Code / Visual Studio / Emacs / Vim / GDB / Windbg / CMake.
