This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Complete all grading, generate progress reports, and hold Caretaker/Learning Coach conferences in a timely manner;
• Enhance the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous teaching;
• Evaluate curriculum and create differentiated methods for presenting lessons to improve student comprehension (collaborating directly with students and Caretakers/Learning Coaches);
• Regularly communicate with Caretakers, Learning Coaches, students, and fellow teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, assess scores, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects;
• Collaborate with other educators to ensure all students are successfully advancing through the program, maintain a central point of contact for the Caretaker/Learning Coach, and distribute tasks among teachers;
• Acquire a general understanding of the overall K-12 curriculum and an in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which responsible;
• Assist students and Caretaker/Learning Coaches with alternative strategies and provide additional support with daily assignments and projects;
• Maintain regular communication with students, Caretakers, and Learning Coaches through various communication channels;
• Keep student records and data current, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and logging all contacts with students, Caretakers, and Learning Coaches;
• Collaborate with colleagues to organize social activities and relevant field trips for students;
• Oversee regional field trips and strive to integrate these experiences into the curriculum;
• Develop and implement virtual methods to foster a “school community”;
• Participate in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed;
• Engage in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives requiring teacher representation;
• Work alongside staff to ensure effective communication with students and families, supporting adequate progress and the achievement of established goals;
• Attend field trips and other community events organized for families; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Certified to teach Business in Pennsylvania
• Pennsylvania State Certification in secondary education for business, typically categorized as Business, Computer, and Information Technology (BCIT)
• Experience with Professional Learning Communities
• Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft OS and MS Office applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Customer-focused approach
• High degree of flexibility
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Track record as a team player
• Willingness to occasionally travel for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight stays)
• Ability to work remotely
• Availability for some occasional evening hours and flexible schedules to support certain families
