• Acquire a profound understanding of your target player demographics through research and insights, utilizing this knowledge to advocate for the player throughout both development and marketing processes.
• Create and oversee the brand strategy for each of your products, which includes brand positioning, brand framework, tone of voice, and brand visual identity, establishing a strategic foundation for all subsequent marketing activities.
• Identify and communicate a compelling product truth, unique selling propositions (USPs), and product positioning, ensuring that each title stands out from competitors and is clearly understood by both internal teams and players.
• Leverage brand, player, and market insights to assist developers in fine-tuning their games for maximum impact.
• Serve as the internal advocate for your brands, keeping the broader business and partners informed and enthusiastic about your products.
• Formulate comprehensive go-to-market strategies for your products, encompassing the entire spectrum from pre-launch awareness to launch and ongoing operations.
• Construct integrated campaign plans in close cooperation with subject matter experts within the cross-functional marketing team, including specialists in social media, influencer relations, public relations, community engagement, lifecycle marketing, and paid media, ensuring a cohesive approach to every release.
• Lead campaign kick-off meetings, briefing the wider marketing team on upcoming launches while aligning all stakeholders on objectives, messaging, and timelines.
• Drive the briefing, creation, and approval of marketing assets, collaborating with both internal creative teams and external agencies to guarantee the highest quality output.
• Oversee marketing budgets for your titles, developing plans, tracking expenditures, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact and return.
• Monitor and report on campaign performance against established KPIs, utilizing data and insights to optimize ongoing activities and refine future strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Community Managers to ensure player communities are engaged, informed, and accurately represented in strategic decisions from the earliest phases.
• Work alongside Producers and development teams to gain a deep understanding of each product’s features, development milestones, and unique attributes, becoming the marketing voice within those relationships.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with external game developers, embodying Team17’s publishing values and ensuring developers perceive themselves as genuine partners in their game’s success.
• Communicate effectively with teams across the Team17 organization—including sales, marketing, and release management—to ensure marketing activities are aligned and supported throughout the company.
• Manage upwards and laterally with confidence, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, highlighting risks early, and influencing decisions through well-reasoned, data-backed arguments.
• Lead or commission market intelligence and player insight initiatives that inform brand, product, and campaign decisions.
• Conduct ongoing competitive analysis, monitoring market trends and rival titles to identify opportunities and threats.
• Drive post-campaign evaluations, capturing candid learnings and integrating them into future planning to continuously elevate standards.
• A seasoned background in brand marketing—capable of understanding brand strategy, constructing brand frameworks from the ground up, and translating brand concepts into effective execution.
• Proven experience in developing and executing go-to-market campaigns across various marketing disciplines and channels, from initial planning to post-launch evaluation.
• Experience within the gaming industry, whether from a publisher, developer, or specialized agency. A deep personal passion for games and a genuine understanding of the gaming landscape are essential.
