This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver specialized technical insights on blast and protection engineering.
• Spearhead the design of blast protection measures, including CFD modeling to assess impacts on building structures and intricate structural analysis.
• Supervise project production and manage workloads for blast-related initiatives.
• Create work plans, outline tasks, and ensure adherence to quality management and technical assurance standards.
• Collaborate closely with clients to grasp their business objectives and practices, identify challenges, and develop effective solutions.
• Interact with sector leaders within our Building & Places Business unit and coordinate with general Building Engineering teams.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including sales and project acquisition.
• Conduct in-depth assessments of threats, probabilities, and repercussions to evaluate risk severity and suitable treatments.
• Generate high-quality documentation, such as employer requirements, specifications, feasibility studies, and concept/scheme designs.
• Oversee projects on behalf of clients, including progress updates and contract management when necessary.
• Advocate for best practices in Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) and support knowledge management within the team.
• Extensive technical knowledge in security with specialized expertise in blast analysis and design.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational and strategic needs to establish a design foundation.
• Proficiency in blast modeling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for precise blast wave-structure interaction analysis.
• Skilled in ANSYS, AutoDyn, or similar software for advanced 3D finite element modeling and fluid-structure interaction.
• Strong comprehension of physical security solutions (doors, locks, walls, fencing, glazing) and applicable performance standards.
• Experience in threat reduction, structural vulnerability assessments, façade and glass evaluations, collision and high-speed impact analysis, and fire effects on structures.
• Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Robust project management skills.
• Strong technical and design capabilities in structural design and security evaluations.
• Proficient numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and diverse parties (architects, contractors, etc.).
• Possess tact, persuasive abilities, and a cooperative team spirit.
• Competent IT skills and self-driven.
• Capability to hold or acquire Security Clearance.
