Biotech Analyst, Level 1 – Biological Chemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• This role involves conducting both routine and complex analytical testing and analyses of biopharmaceutical finished products or raw materials.

• Adhere to the Training SOP for training and maintaining training records.

• Perform testing in accordance with established methods, following the company's Standard Operating Procedures, Deviations, Change Control protocols, and cGMP guidelines.

• Collaborate effectively with fellow Analysts and maintain clear communication with peers and supervisors.

• Ensure that all work order documentation is meticulously completed and that results are accurately entered into the electronic Laboratory Information System or the Client’s Certificate of Analysis prior to submission to the QA reviewer.

• Organize, prioritize, and plan daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow, guaranteeing the completion of scheduled assignments and adherence to established deadlines.

• Report and assist in investigations of failures as directed.

• Maintain equipment in optimal condition, performing necessary calibrations and qualifications as required.

• Document findings in a standardized format, ensuring all records and analyst notebooks are well-organized.

• With minimal supervision, develop study protocols, study reports, forms, and SOPs.

• Record data promptly and accurately.

• Comfortable leading and/or engaging in technical discussions with SGS clients.

• Notify the Department Manager and/or Group Leader/Scientific Leader as early as possible if assigned work cannot be completed satisfactorily within the established time frame and quality expectations.

• Capable of executing method verifications, validations, and transfers based on signed protocols with minimal oversight.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

• Over 1 year of demonstrated experience in completing more complex roles and responsibilities.

• Experience with HPLC and ELISA is considered a significant asset.

• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects within a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

• Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated time management skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Performs well under pressure.

• Demonstrated understanding of protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, and/or biophysics.
