This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Respond to service calls to assess, diagnose, repair, and carry out scheduled maintenance on customer biomedical equipment.
• Analyze complex biomedical equipment problems and execute suitable repairs.
• Conduct planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, while fostering customer relations.
• Adhere to and guide others on GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and necessary documentation.
• Collaborate and communicate with teammates, colleagues, and customers to ensure issue resolution and follow-up.
• Implement GE/customer facility agreements to support business objectives and goals.
• Lead, mentor, and assist technicians with both basic and complex repairs.
• Deliver efficient service to all accounts within the designated area.
• Share on-call/pager duties, including after-hours and weekend coverage when necessary.
• Record repair actions and submit reports and summaries as per the established schedule.
• Manage spare parts, tools, test equipment, calibration, and approved parts inventory.
• Oversee vendors' service delivery processes ensuring compliance with GE policies.
• Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for the safe use of medical equipment.
• May act as Site Leader, directing the activities of Biomedical Technicians assigned to a specific site.
• Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Complete mandatory quality and compliance training and report any customer quality or compliance issues.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience in servicing medical equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to customers.
• Must pass GE HealthCare's standard background check, which includes a post-offer drug test.
• Must adhere to customer access policies, including necessary immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks as required.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work outside of regular hours or participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.
• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and exhibit good hand and finger dexterity.
• Required vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
