Bioinformatics Analyst

📋 Description

• Design innovative methods to derive clinically actionable insights from sequencing data;

• Develop and refine bioinformatics workflows, optimizing for biological answer quality while ensuring computational efficiency;

• Maintain reproducibility and traceability of analyses to ensure consistent and auditable clinical processing;

• Conduct ad hoc analyses of experimental laboratory data to guide decisions on standardizing new workflows;

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, producing clean, maintainable code with thorough test coverage;

• Comprehend essential sequencing metrics and automate quality control assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in genomics and bioinformatics, aimed at resolving challenges in the simplest and most sustainable manner;

• Proficiency in evaluating, validating, and operating open-source tools for sequencing workflows (alignment, variant calling, CNVs, etc.);

• Experience in developing NGS pipelines using Python, adhering to engineering best practices, including a strong grasp of Git, testing, and CI/CD;

• Practical experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP or AWS);

• A clinical production mindset: create autonomous, self-monitoring pipelines that guarantee traceability, with tests and alerts functioning systematically without manual intervention;

• Strong communication skills to clearly convey and align requirements among physicians, developers, and product teams.
