This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Gather insurance details from patients and provide guidance on alternative financial assistance options.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical personnel to facilitate urgent or referred patient scheduling requests.
• Deliver patient scheduling services, which include gathering demographic information and handling insurance registration.
• Review and amend new-patient schedules as needed.
• Contact patients to remind them of their appointments and collect insurance details and referral forms.
• Manage internal physician referrals for clinical services.
• Clarify billing procedures to patients and staff.
• Respond to incoming queries from patients and third-party payers.
• Assist with fundamental account maintenance tasks.
• Help patients with insurance inquiries related to billing.
• Support staff with reminder cards and other scheduling responsibilities.
• Operate the Relatient patient-reminder system results and communicate with patients or adjust scheduling as necessary.
• Implement daily edits and temporary adjustments to provider scheduling templates based on physician feedback.
• Schedule and register patients via phone or email without direct patient interaction.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience.
• No specific certification or professional license is required.
• A driver's license is not necessary.
• Capability to obtain insurance information and referral forms.
• Proficiency in scheduling and registering patients through phone or email.
• Understanding of billing processes, insurance inquiries, and financial assistance options.
• Preferred familiarity with billing systems, Epic EHR, financial information, insurance, medical office support, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, scheduling, and third-party claims.
• Ability to effectively perform the essential functions of the role.
