Bilingual Technical Writer, English-French – CONTRACT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Translate user interface text and online help documentation from English to French.

• Review and validate the French-language user interface following implementation.

• Write, update, and maintain technical documentation across various formats.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to collect information and structure content.

• Maintain translation resources to ensure consistent language use across products and documentation.

• Manage writing and translation tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Work with cross-functional teams to facilitate product releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Communication, Arts, Journalism, Translation, or a related discipline.

• 5–7 years of experience in technical writing within the software or financial sectors.

• Professional-level written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.

• Over 5 years of experience using MadCap Flare for creating and maintaining documentation.

• More than 5 years of experience utilizing translation memory tools, preferably memoQ Pro.

• Strong editing, proofreading, and quality review capabilities for both original and translated content.

• Familiarity with screen capture and image editing software such as Snagit or PaintShop Pro.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities independently.
