This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and construct data pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory to transfer data from the student information system into a Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse.
• Develop and sustain Bronze and Gold layer Delta tables in accordance with Medallion Architecture principles.
• Create and enhance Power BI semantic models, incorporating relationships, DAX measures, and row-level security across various business domains.
• Generate denormalized SQL views on SQL Server to prepare data for Lakehouse ingestion.
• Maintain and enhance incremental load strategies through watermark-based pipeline techniques.
• Work in collaboration with the Data Architect to outline Gold layer table structures that facilitate clean and manageable reporting.
• Support the retraining of reporting staff on Power BI and the new Fabric environment in conjunction with the Data Architect.
• Contribute to the establishment of data governance standards, including naming conventions, documentation, and model design guidelines.
• Aid in the future development of conversational AI agents that leverage the Fabric data layer.
• Oversee pipeline health, diagnose failures, and ensure data quality across the Lakehouse.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, encompassing Lakehouses, Delta Lake, and OneLake.
• Expertise in SQL — including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining Azure Data Factory pipelines.
• Knowledge of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Experience with Power BI, particularly in semantic model design and DAX measure creation.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to audiences without a technical background.
• Comfort in working autonomously within a small team setting with minimal oversight.
• Strong focus on data quality and validation practices.
• Experience with Python or PySpark for data transformation tasks.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as PL-300, DP-700, or AZ-900.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, including stored procedures, views, and replication techniques.
• Understanding of Direct Lake mode in Power BI semantic models.
• Experience with incremental load methodologies and watermark-based pipeline strategies.
