Behavioral Health Care Manager I – After-Hours Crisis Line

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Overseeing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment services in both facility-based and outpatient settings through telephonic or written evaluations of health benefits.

• Employing suitable screening criteria, knowledge, and clinical judgment to assess member requirements, ensuring access to medically necessary, high-quality behavioral healthcare in a cost-effective manner in line with UM Clinical Guidelines and contractual obligations.

• Appropriately referring cases to Peer Reviewers as necessary.

• Conducting assessments for psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, coordinating implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluation to enhance quality member outcomes. This aims to optimize member health benefits and facilitate the effective use of health resources and community services.


⛳️ Requirements

• MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health discipline, or a nursing degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.

• A current active unrestricted license, such as LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, RN, or Clinical Psychologist, to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in the state of North Carolina.

• Prior experience in Utilization Management/Case Management with a comprehensive background in managing complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases is preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

• Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

• Comfortable managing multiple screens simultaneously.
