This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provides training, develops and updates Policies & Procedures, and reviews control reports to ensure the overall quality and performance of Bankruptcy processes.
• Manages escalated calls from borrowers and attorneys seeking inquiries related to the Bankruptcy Department.
• Collaborates with management on various projects and coordinates efforts with project management and IT regarding bankruptcy processes.
• Oversees litigated and escalated bankruptcy files, offering management recommendations and solutions.
• Conducts both informal and formal training sessions with staff on bankruptcy processes.
• Identifies process gaps within the bankruptcy framework, recommends continuous improvements, and implements solutions approved by management.
• Serves as the “Trainer” within the department, providing training on multiple bankruptcy processes.
• May possess signing authority to execute bankruptcy documents on behalf of the company.
• Receives and processes bankruptcy documents throughout all bankruptcy procedures.
• Creates and orders necessary documents within the bankruptcy process.
• Audits, reviews, and completes the setup of bankruptcy filings, including Motions for Relief, Proof of Claims, Transfer of Claims, Reaffirmations, Notice of Final Cures, Post-Petition Fee notices, Payment Change Notices, and the Closing process for accuracy and thoroughness, coordinating necessary corrections across any Bankruptcy Chapters.
• Manages documentation or analysis processes for setup bankruptcy filings, Motions for Relief, Proof of Claims, Transfer of Claims, Reaffirmations, Notice of Final Cures, Post-Petition Fee notices, Payment Change Notices, and the Closing process.
• Verifies and researches borrower payment history, resolving payment posting discrepancies (i.e., Ledger Balancing).
• Handles the verification of borrower payment histories and resolves payment posting discrepancies.
• Collects and uploads documents including Assignments of Mortgages, Deeds, Notes, and other required documents for filing actions within bankruptcy.
• Receives and responds to incoming calls from borrowers, bankruptcy attorneys, and other interested parties regarding inquiries about residential mortgage accounts in the bankruptcy process.
• Addresses inquiries from internal departments concerning bankruptcy-related issues, handling highly escalated inquiries.
• Provides management with recommended solutions for bankruptcy agreements or disputes.
• Manages more complex tasks and manually calculates figures for Motions for Relief and Proof of Claim.
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience; some college education preferred.
• Over five years of experience in a bankruptcy role within the banking, finance, or mortgage industry.
• At least one year of experience in a senior or lead bankruptcy role or project management.
• Intermediate math skills required for calculating Motions for Relief and Proof of Claim figures.
