Bambara Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Bambara Telephone Interpreter is tasked with managing on-demand calls and conveying the meanings of conversations between Bambara and English speakers.

• The interpreter plays a crucial role in bridging communication gaps across various industries served by LanguageLine Solutions, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.

• The interpreter swiftly processes information, articulates it clearly, and is aware of sensitive cultural nuances.

• The interpreter maintains professionalism and courtesy at all times, employing appropriate terminology while understanding common industry protocols and practices.

• The interpreting sessions may encompass both straightforward and intricate, technical and non-technical topics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both Bambara and English, along with a strong understanding of the related cultural dynamics.

• Capability to offer cultural competency and recognize regional and accent variations to facilitate effective communication with Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals.

• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure a high level of accuracy during interpretations.

• Ability to maintain focus, remain detached from the conversation, and uphold neutrality and objectivity at all times, particularly in discussions involving sensitive topics such as end-of-life conversations, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and issues regarding sexual orientation and/or gender expression.

• Educational background or professional experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation is preferred.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
