Azure Linux, PaaS Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for Linux-based workloads operating on Azure IaaS and Azure PaaS platforms, which include Azure App Service on Linux, containers, managed databases, storage solutions, identity management, monitoring tools, and integration services.

• Diagnose issues related to Azure PaaS that affect application connectivity, private endpoints, DNS resolution, managed identities, access to Key Vault, certificate management, scalability, performance, and platform diagnostics.

• Set up and maintain observability for PaaS services utilizing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, diagnostic configurations, alerts, and dashboards.

• Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to facilitate CI/CD deployments, implement infrastructure as code, validate releases, and ensure operational readiness.

• Assist in implementing secure PaaS patterns that involve RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault integration, private networking, NSGs, firewall configurations, and enforcing least-privilege access.

• Support the migration and modernization of VM-based workloads to Azure managed services when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in supporting Azure PaaS services such as Azure App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Service Bus, and Azure Container Apps or AKS.

• Knowledge of Azure PaaS networking concepts, including Private Endpoints, Private DNS Zones, VNet integration, service endpoints, firewall settings, and hybrid connectivity solutions.

• Proficient in troubleshooting Linux-based applications, web services, certificate management, identity/authentication processes, DNS issues, load balancing, and application performance challenges.

• Understanding of shared responsibility principles across Azure IaaS and PaaS operating models.
