Azure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Construct, sustain, and enhance Azure DevOps pipelines to facilitate dependable application and infrastructure deployments across development, testing, and production environments.

• Create and uphold infrastructure as code utilizing ARM and Bicep templates to provide consistent, repeatable, and scalable Azure deployments.

• Develop and refine PowerShell-based automation to optimize provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational support tasks.

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and continuous operation of Azure resources and platform services in accordance with engineering standards and business requirements.

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to enhance cloud delivery processes, eliminate obstacles, and boost overall engineering efficiency.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to pipelines, deployments, Azure resources, environment configuration, and automation workflows.

• Aid in monitoring and optimizing Azure resource usage, identify opportunities for waste reduction, and support cost optimization and FinOps initiatives through reporting, tagging, and governance practices.

• Contribute to cloud security and governance efforts by adhering to established standards for access control, policy enforcement, resource consistency, and operational compliance.

• Utilize Azure-native monitoring and logging tools to enhance visibility, aid issue resolution, and improve platform reliability and performance.

• Participate in the creation of documentation, standards, and best practices that enhance automation, supportability, governance, and the long-term success of the Azure environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or a related technical role supporting Azure-based environments.

• Practical experience with Azure DevOps, including the creation of pipelines, build and release automation, and deployment support.

• Proficiency in developing infrastructure as code solutions using ARM and Bicep.

• Strong skills in scripting and automation utilizing PowerShell.

• Familiarity with Azure platform services, cloud deployment patterns, and multi-environment support practices.

• Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and access management concepts within Azure.

• Awareness of Azure cost management, resource optimization, or FinOps-related practices.

• Experience with source control and versioning practices using Git.

• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a capacity to work effectively across distributed teams.
