This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Delivery Support: For new projects, oversee the transition phase and establish the engagement operating model, assist in defining metrics, and aid in the execution of specified statements of work.
• Engagement Leadership: Design the technical architecture for intricate cloud systems, and guide the implementation team. Engage in hands-on implementation tasks while delegating additional responsibilities to the implementation team. Facilitate the creation and delivery of project outcomes, ensuring they align with client expectations. Ensure the implementation team upholds a unified vision of the engagement objectives.
• Client Interaction: Throughout the project, foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their requirements are fulfilled and resolving any issues that may arise. Identify opportunities for further client engagement.
• Additional Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Pre-Sales Support: Assist Solution Architects and Solution Executives with technical insights, methodology suggestions, work estimates, and solution support. Practice Support: Provide input, expertise, and implement enhancements into the design, development, and refinement of service offerings and back-office processes as necessary; aid in the research and development of new services and evaluate competing offerings to ensure the practice remains current and competitive in the market; create and maintain practice artifacts documenting key methods, processes, and delivery tools. Human Resources: Support the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of project team members during the initial engagement phase.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering or technical field is required.
• Over 9 years of experience in information technology and/or professional services, with a focus on subject matter expertise.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cloud Architect role or equivalent position.
• At least 5 years of experience working with AWS services is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud migration is required.
• At least 3 years of experience with Microservices and Serverless architectures is necessary.
• Proven leadership skills in an engineering environment, driving operational excellence and best practices.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology challenges.
• A strong record of delivering projects of substantial complexity and scale.
• Practical knowledge of AWS document processing services such as Textract, Kendra, Bedrock Data Automation, or Comprehend.
• Hands-on experience with AWS AI/ML services including Bedrock, AgentCore, and Amazon Q.
• Proficiency in AWS Data services such as S3/Athena, RDS, Lake Formation, Glue, Redshift, or EMR.
• Familiarity with various AWS services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB, Systems Manager, API Gateway, ACM, Route53, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with enterprise AWS services including Organizations, Control Tower, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect.
• Background in strategizing and migrating legacy enterprise applications (Lift & Shift/ Code Refactoring).
• Capability to lead the adoption of modern DevOps practices and mentor team members on architectural concepts.
• Experience with source code and software collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Artifactory).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline).
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code, preferably using CDK.
• In-depth knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native frameworks.
• Robust hands-on scripting capabilities (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Some familiarity with an application programming language like C#, Java, or JavaScript (Node.js).
• Understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling.
• Strong practical skills in Linux and Windows-based systems administration within a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
• Willingness to travel to client locations to provide professional services as needed.
• Ability to work remotely with team members across various time zones and regions.
• Competence in presenting designs to diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Skill in identifying and addressing potential design or architecture issues, and managing uncertainty.
• Eagerness to lead discussions and challenge technical and design decisions when standards or best practices are not met.
• Implementation of central architecture standards, utilizing JIRA, Confluence, etc., while raising and tracking architecture tasks, dependencies, and risks for 2-3 ongoing projects they are assigned to.
• Sharp analytical skills and demonstrated design capabilities.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and motivation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in conveying technical requirements and solutions to internal and external parties.
• A professional-level AWS certification is essential.
