AVP, Software Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development initiatives for cloud-native applications within the Caching Solutions and Rewards System teams, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with business goals.

• Propel business objectives by converting product requirements into actionable technical plans, managing scope and sequencing, and guaranteeing delivery reliability.

• Take ownership of the solution design and implementation strategy for intricate features and services; lead architecture and design reviews while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and best practices.

• Stay actively involved by contributing to code, performing code reviews, guiding implementation methodologies, and resolving complex engineering challenges.

• Mentor and support engineers through technical coaching, collaborative coding sessions, and feedback on reviews; enhance overall engineering proficiency and quality.

• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and other internal teams to manage technical dependencies and integrations necessary for project delivery (without overseeing platform operations).

• Coordinate with internal technical personnel and external vendors as needed to eliminate development roadblocks and address product-impacting issues.

• Deliver regular status updates to leadership, including progress on commitments, identified risks, mitigation strategies, and dependency requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with over 5 years of experience in system engineering, or alternatively, over 7 years of proficient system engineering experience without a degree.

• More than 5 years of substantial hands-on development experience in Java and Spring Boot for creating enterprise-grade services.

• At least 3 years of demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing cloud-native applications utilizing a microservices architecture.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience with event streaming and asynchronous processing patterns using Kafka and Amazon MSK.

• At least 3 years of experience in deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry).

• Proficient understanding of relational database design and persistence with MySQL.

• Experience with observability, logging, and production monitoring using tools like Splunk and New Relic.
