This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Design, implement, and sustain a comprehensive ESG governance framework that adheres to industry standards and regulatory obligations.
• Work alongside relevant departments to establish roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities pertaining to ESG performance.
• Conduct periodic evaluations of governance structures and suggest enhancements to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
• Create and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to ESG.
• Act as the main liaison for ESG rating agencies (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P Global).
• Oversee the annual ratings cycle, which includes completing questionnaires, supplying supporting documents, and addressing inquiries.
• Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of diverse ESG rating methodologies and scoring criteria.
• Analyze rating outcomes, pinpoint improvement areas, and formulate action plans to boost the company's ESG profile.
• Monitor and assess competitors' ESG ratings and industry developments.
• Supervise the collection, validation, and analysis of ESG data from various departments.
• Establish and uphold processes for precise and efficient data collection, documentation, and storage.
• Ensure data quality and integrity in preparation for ESG reporting and disclosures.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to incorporate ESG metrics into financial reporting systems as applicable.
• Assist in the preparation of ESG reports, including annual sustainability reports and responses to stakeholder queries.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams across the organization (e.g., legal, finance, operations, communications) to integrate ESG considerations into business practices.
• Create and deliver training programs to boost ESG awareness and understanding throughout the company.
• Effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders regarding ESG governance and performance.
• Keep updated on the latest trends, regulations, and best practices related to ESG governance and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the company's ESG program and improve its rating agency standings.
• Assist in implementing new ESG initiatives and projects.
• Regularly assess the efficacy of the ESG program and propose recommendations for continuous improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 12 to 15 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or a related area, focusing on governance, reporting, and ratings.
• Strong grasp of ESG principles, frameworks, standards, and reporting guidelines (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
• Experience in managing relationships with ESG rating agencies and familiarity with their methodologies.
• Proven ability to develop and implement ESG governance frameworks and policies.
• Experience in gathering, managing, and analyzing ESG data.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively present information to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
