This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Handles requests for the release of information by retrieving medical charts and returning them as needed.
• Accurately scans medical records and transmits them in accordance with requests.
• Reviews audit requests received from external organizations.
• Validates requests and authorizations for the release of medical information.
• Conducts quality checks on all tasks to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Keeps equipment in optimal operating condition.
• Maintains current client account logins and credentials.
• Performs duties in compliance with client/site policies and procedures.
• A High School Diploma (GED) is required.
• At least 2 years of previous experience in a medical records department or a similar environment is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in computer software, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Ability to work remotely while providing support at client locations.
• Must be geographically close to the assigned client site.
• Exceptional organizational skills are necessary.
• Must be capable of typing at a speed of 50 words per minute.
• Proficiency in using fax machines, copiers, and scanning devices is essential.
• Willingness to quickly learn new equipment and processes is required.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential.
• Proven skills in ensuring customer satisfaction are necessary.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
• Provides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful.
• Adheres to professional appearance and dress code standards.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Ensures the safeguarding of patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations and standards.
