Audit Manager – Retail Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Implements the Audit Plan for designated business areas, adhering to Internal Audit standards, applicable government regulations, and Mashreq Bank policies.

• Produces high-quality audit reports and validates the Internal Audit Action Plan in a timely manner.

• Actively promotes the integration of auditing concepts, technological advancements, and data analytics.

• Functions as an Audit in Charge, leading a small to medium-sized team of Internal Audit professionals while managing audit assignments within the established budget.

• Holds a comprehensive understanding of various Internal Audit standards, policies, and local regulations; applies extensive knowledge of high-risk areas.

• Cultivates effective relationships with senior line management and possesses a strong grasp of the businesses involved.

• Utilizes a deep understanding of the interconnections between business units and support functions within the Bank, recognizing their influence on the overall control environment and audit strategy.

• Exhibits exceptional communication skills to influence a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including respective product or function areas, and negotiates effectively at higher levels on significant issues impacting the area managed.

• Showcases strong judgment, political awareness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity.

• Proficient in evaluating the risk landscape and adapting to changes through the annual risk assessment process.

• Oversees assigned Offsite/Onsite Review functions efficiently and proactively to meet objectives and identify risks promptly, recommending appropriate corrective measures to mitigate risk.

• Fully adheres to all systems and procedures, review criteria for selection of review parameters as established and modified periodically, internal processes, turnaround times, and credit policies while executing tasks professionally and efficiently.

• Evaluates assigned units of the bank to identify and surface risks, assigning suitable risk ratings in a timely manner to facilitate corrective actions by the units or relationship officers. Monitors the completion of action plan items closely.

• As an Audit in Charge, supervises and manages examinations to ensure compliance with all review processes and approved plans, accurately identifying and surfacing risks in credits/processes, assigning correct risk ratings, and effectively communicating results to the units to secure their buy-in, thus achieving the review's overall objectives.

• Provides suggestions and recommendations to enhance processes for the protection of the bank's interests.

• Ensures that reviews are conducted objectively and professionally, minimizing communication gaps and promoting acceptance of results by reviewees.

• Offers on-the-job coaching and guidance both offsite and during onsite examinations.

• Establishes strong working relationships with the line to foster mutual understanding, facilitating communication and acceptance of review findings.

• Manages the oversight of assigned business units to ensure early identification of risks through maintaining close contact with the units.

⛳️ Requirements

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications. Additional credentials like CFA/FRM are preferred.

• Extensive experience in a relevant role, encompassing Internal Audit and/or retail business, totaling 10 years of professional experience.

• Proven experience in team management and in overseeing integrated internal audit and assurance delivery.

• Effective negotiation skills with a proactive, 'no surprises' communication approach and the ability to maintain independent viewpoints.

• Must be an articulate and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.

• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with all levels of internal and external audit and management.
