This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.
• Act on behalf of the Executive Director at contested case hearings, agency agenda meetings, alternative dispute resolution sessions, and other agency activities;
• Facilitate negotiations for agreements and orders;
• Support the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) and occasionally the Office of the Attorney General in case preparation for contested hearings or court trials;
• Provide legal guidance to agency staff on matters typically related to investigations and enforcement, as well as on associated agency projects;
• Perform legal research and draft legal opinions and briefs for extended projects or issues involving unique legal questions.
• Must be admitted to the State Bar of Texas and have at least three years of full-time legal practice experience, or have held a significant role where legal work was a primary responsibility, or possess one year and six months of experience in environmental law or related environmental legal matters.
• A minimum of one year and six months of full-time experience as an Attorney I at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
