• The Associate SEO Lead serves as the senior execution and quality role within the Rocket Clicks SEO team.
• Reporting directly to the Director of SEO, this position is accountable for SEO execution across all assigned client accounts, with a particular emphasis on technical SEO, crawl and indexation analysis, HTML and site structure reviews, AI workflow development, quality control of deliverables, and direct mentorship of SEO Specialists.
• This role is an advancement from the SEO Specialist position.
• The Associate SEO Lead ensures that the work is accurate at every layer of SEO, that technical implementations are executed properly, that deliverables are precise, and that the team's AI-assisted processes continuously improve.
• Conduct in-depth technical audits focusing on crawlability, indexation, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, schema, page speed, redirects, canonicalization, hreflang, and overall site health.
• Review and enhance HTML semantics on client websites, which includes heading hierarchy, semantic tag usage, structured data implementation, accessibility-aware markup, and on-page factors that affect ranking and parsing.
• Investigate ranking declines, indexation losses, traffic anomalies, rendering issues, and crawl inefficiencies.
• Trace issues back to their root causes.
• Lead crawl analysis utilizing tools such as Screaming Frog, log file reviews, rendered DOM inspections, and similar resources.
• Identify crawl traps, orphaned pages, parameter bloat, redirect chains, and inefficient crawl budget usage.
• Oversee local SEO technical execution, which encompasses optimizing Google Business Profiles, structuring location pages, maintaining citation hygiene, surfacing reviews, addressing proximity-related signals, and implementing local schema technically.
• 4 to 7 years of professional SEO experience, ideally in an agency setting.
• A proven history of executing technical SEO strategies that enhanced organic visibility, crawl health, indexation, rankings, leads, or local search performance.
• Strong hands-on experience with technical SEO audits, implementation oversight, and complex troubleshooting.
• Experience in directing or reviewing the production of SEO content, including crafting content briefs, providing structural guidance, optimizing on-page elements, and managing internal linking within hub-and-spoke or cluster architectures.
• Demonstrated experience in leveraging and developing AI workflows in everyday SEO operations, including prompt engineering, creating custom skills or workflows, and executing AI-assisted strategies at scale.
• Proficient in reading HTML and identifying markup-level issues, capable of writing specifications, collaborating with developers, and verifying implementations.
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Business Profile, Screaming Frog, log file analyzers, SEMrush, Ahrefs, BrightLocal, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
• Experience working within WordPress or comparable CMS environments, with an understanding of how themes, plugins, and template logic influence SEO outcomes.
• Previous experience in local SEO, legal marketing, family law, or service-based industries is highly preferred.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members or reviewing SEO work is preferred.
