This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary privacy officer for the organization.
• Establish and uphold relevant privacy, security, and associated policies.
• Provide guidance on privacy and security issues, encompassing HIPAA, GLBA, HITRUST, and state privacy laws such as CCPA.
• Offer legal counsel to various departments within the organization, specifically regarding laws and regulations pertinent to the operation of the company's health insurance technology platform.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors, business partners, health insurance providers, technology licensors, and other external parties.
• Over 8 years of legal experience, including time spent at a law firm and/or previous in-house roles focusing on privacy, healthcare issues, and/or technology platforms.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• Capability to identify risks and suggest alternative solutions to mitigate those risks while fulfilling business objectives.
• Self-driven team player with a quick learning ability, adept at identifying and resolving legal and business challenges, managing projects, and gaining the trust and collaboration of business partners.
