
Assistant Manager, Professional Chapter Communities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +19 more states.
• Enhance engagement across AMA Professional Chapters
• Assist volunteer leadership and manage chapter operations
• Act as the primary point of contact for Professional Chapter leaders
• Offer operational support, address issues, and connect volunteers with AMA resources
• Create and sustain chapter communications, newsletters, training materials, operational guides, and other resources
• Oversee the Chapter Excellence Awards and Ric Sweeney Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award processes
• Aid in the planning of PCC meetings and special events, including scheduling, logistics, accommodations, materials, note-taking, and follow-up
• Track chapter performance and organizational health, maintain data, and prepare reports
• Collaborate with the Professional Chapters Council to assist chapters needing additional guidance
• Initiate programs for volunteer engagement, collaboration, leadership development, and knowledge sharing
• Enhance communication and collaboration between AMA staff and volunteer leaders
• Organize volunteer onboarding, leadership training, Leadership Labs, and other educational opportunities
• Identify and execute improvements to chapter programs, policies, and operational processes
• Support member engagement, membership growth and retention, and the overall Professional Chapter member experience
• Address chapter inquiries and provide advice on operations, development, growth, and revitalization
• Foster relationships with volunteer leaders and community stakeholders through recognition and appreciation initiatives
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit organization or in volunteer management
• 3 to 5 years of experience in customer service
• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Proficient in Google Suite, including Docs and Sheets
• Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to fostering trust and understanding
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are clear and inclusive
• Highly organized, resourceful, and attentive to detail
• Self-motivated and eager to continue learning
• Must reside in Alabama, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin
• Candidates requiring H1-B sponsorship will not be considered
• Experience with Salesforce database management is a plus
• Familiarity with website content management using CMS such as WordPress or Payload is advantageous
