Architect – Change Safety Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Analyzing documented change processes that operate on one of the largest distributed systems globally.

• Investigating and understanding how Akamai's platforms, products, services, and systems function and their interdependencies.

• Reviewing and endorsing change strategies throughout Akamai.

• Identifying, analyzing, and reporting safety risks.

• Collaborating with executives and system owners to ensure that prioritized risk mitigation measures are implemented.

• Working alongside Architects, Researchers, and Engineers to uphold Reliability Standards and evaluate systems against those established benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and education in computer science or another research-intensive scientific discipline.

• Utilize systems thinking to understand complex architectures and pinpoint key risk elements without requiring all low-level specifics.

• Exhibit a strong understanding of IP networks, DNS, routing, and communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP, and UDP.

• Grasp fundamental computer configurations, which include operating systems, containers, and encrypted communications.

• Independently research and analyze technical documents, including design specifications, RFCs, and unfamiliar code to enhance systems.

• Effectively communicate through written documentation, presentations, and meetings, clearly articulating complex concepts.
