This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a member of the team responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of moderately complex distributed or web-based information systems.
• Assist with project tasks, including coding and testing programs.
• Create system documentation, which includes structure charts, screen designs, data flow diagrams, file layouts, report layouts, and job run descriptions.
• Aid in the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of moderately complex web-based and distributed applications.
• Contribute to project deliverables, coding, system testing, and technical documentation per established IT standards.
• Analyze business challenges.
• Assess information systems and comprehend the interdependencies between their components.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in test, development, or production environments.
• Draft procedures and technical documentation.
• Effectively manage a variety of concurrent activities.
• Completion of college coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Experience in developing distributed and/or web-based systems.
• Familiarity with programming languages, including COBOL II and J2E.
• Proficiency with database management systems such as IMS DB, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and Access.
• Experience in web development utilizing HTML.
• Knowledge of PC fundamental tools and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of structured systems analysis, design, programming, and testing.
• Familiarity with mainframe and/or distributed computing principles and concepts.
• Knowledge of systems operation practices.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a business context.
• Capacity to evaluate information systems and understand component interdependencies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues in various environments.
• Capability to write procedures and technical materials.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Centered Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Relevant coursework, internship, academic project, volunteer, or professional experience related to user interface, user experience, or digital product design.
• A portfolio or work samples that showcase wireframing, prototyping, visual design, user research, or web/mobile experience design.
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar applications.
• Basic understanding of user-centered design, usability, responsive design, information architecture, accessibility, or design systems.
• Ability to gather feedback and translate user or business requirements into design concepts.
• Proficiency in communicating design ideas and collaborating with business partners, developers, product teams, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile, iterative design, or software and product development methodologies.
