Application Architect – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Outline the application architecture, technical specifications, and integration standards for enterprise mobile solutions.

• Create secure, scalable, and maintainable Android application architectures utilizing Kotlin.

• Establish middleware and API orchestration strategies, including Backend for Frontend (BFF), application proxy, aggregation, and integration patterns.

• Set architecture standards for resilience, caching, error management, fallback responses, and graceful degradation.

• Design and oversee Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Kiosk Mode strategies to meet enterprise device management needs.

• Define security protocols and architectural controls in line with OWASP Mobile and enterprise security standards.

• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards, data protection regulations, and enterprise architecture guidelines.

• Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, and business stakeholders to align architectural decisions with business goals.

• Offer technical leadership and architectural insights throughout the implementation and delivery processes.

• Review solution designs to guarantee compliance with architectural standards and best practices.

• Document architectural decisions, technical requirements, and solution designs thoroughly.

• Lead continuous improvement efforts related to architecture, performance enhancement, scalability, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in software architecture, application architecture, or mobile architecture roles.

• Extensive experience in designing Android applications with Kotlin.

• Demonstrated experience in defining application architecture and technical requirements for enterprise mobile solutions.

• Experience in designing middleware architectures, including Backend for Frontend (BFF), application proxy, and API orchestration strategies.

• Strong grasp of API aggregation, error normalization, fallback responses, and strategies for graceful degradation.

• Experience in designing caching strategies and performance optimization techniques for mobile applications.

• Proven experience in integrating and managing Android devices through MDM platforms and Kiosk Mode implementations.

• Experience in customizing WebView-based experiences using JavaScript and CSS injection methods.

• Solid knowledge of mobile security best practices, sensitive data protection, and OWASP Mobile Top 10 guidelines.

• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher).
