APAC Tax Lead – 6-12 Months Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary contact for all tax-related issues within the region.

• Oversee and guarantee tax compliance by coordinating with local teams and pertinent external firms.

• Offer internal tax advisory and operational support regarding regional taxation issues, encompassing international, direct, indirect, corporate, and personal taxes.

• Provide guidance on the structuring of commercial transactions and contractual agreements.

• Assist with new business initiatives, including the introduction of new products or services.

• Identify and execute tax optimization and opportunity strategies in the region.

• Collaborate with the global tax team to ensure consistency with global frameworks and strategies.

• Manage interactions, inquiries, relationships, and audits with local tax authorities.

• Address tax challenges, disputes, and manage tax litigation.

• Keep track of tax legislation and policy changes in the region, including developments related to cryptocurrency.

• Supervise the execution and management of various ad-hoc tax projects across the APAC region.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Economics, or Taxation.

• A minimum of 12 years of experience, ideally within a Big 4 firm and/or as an in-house practitioner.

• Demonstrated solid experience as a tax leader in the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on operations and compliance.

• Quick learner, highly adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

• Proactive individual who can work effectively and independently in a remote setting.

• Proven hands-on approach and success in a collaborative team environment.
