Animator / Motion Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create visuals for the Unexplainable weekly video podcast episodes, collaborating closely with production teams to meet weekly deadlines.

• Partner with the Unexplainable team and receive guidance from Vox’s Art Director to establish the visual style and graphics package for the show.

• Develop original assets and templates for both videos and video podcasts.

• Work in close collaboration with editorial leadership, Vox’s other art director, and video producers.

• Provide art direction and graphic oversight for video packages to ensure visual clarity while adhering to the Vox style guide.

• Comply with all journalistic and legal standards consistently.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in graphic design and animation, with a portfolio showcasing strong and relevant work.

• A strong passion for Vox’s mission of helping audiences grasp what truly matters.

• In-depth familiarity with Vox’s video voice and style.

• Exceptional design taste along with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience and comfort in providing visual feedback.

• Proficiency in video editing.

• Experience in sourcing and collecting relevant archival footage and materials.

• A creative drive to explore innovative approaches to visual storytelling.

• Awareness of industry competitors and their activities in this space.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

• A collaborative team player who enjoys working across the organization.

• Proficient in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with some familiarity in Premiere Pro.
