Android Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for Android development while gaining a deep understanding of the codebase and current solutions.

• Select appropriate technologies and methodologies based on the challenges and long-term objectives of the product.

• Participate in all facets of product development, from achieving pixel-perfect designs to managing analytics, payments, and user authentication.

• Engage in intriguing and complex features, ranging from simpler tasks like creating custom views and APIs to advanced elements such as 2D/3D graphics, VR, AI, CRDT, and more.

• Leverage widely-used Android libraries and Kotlin solutions.

• Assist the team in resolving technical challenges, addressing inquiries, and identifying feasible solutions.

• Create a modular codebase, perform comprehensive code reviews, and adhere to best practices and coding standards.

• Collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical departments.

• Contribute to recruitment efforts as the team expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Android development, including leadership roles.

• Significant expertise in Kotlin and Java.

• In-depth knowledge of the Android ecosystem, including Android SDK, Jetpack, Dagger, and common libraries.

• Familiarity with SQL, SQLite, and Room.

• Experience with concurrency and asynchronous programming techniques, such as Kotlin Coroutines and RxJava.

• Proficient in working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, Git, and Protobuf.

• Strong understanding of software design, code quality, and testing methodologies.

• Capability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.

• Ability to make informed technical decisions and articulate trade-offs.

• Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to fellow developers.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Excellent communication skills, both clear and concise.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience with in-app payments and subscriptions.

• Proficient in English.
