Analyst II – Clinical Drug Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and make determinations on Special Authorization requests in accordance with established protocols for requested medications and recognized medical conditions.

• Identify the necessary system entries and correspondence details that need to be documented.

• Input Special Authorization request data into the Alberta Blue Cross computer systems to ensure accurate claims processing.

• Draft correspondence to inform prescribers and subscribers about Special Authorization outcomes.

• Manage electronic and telephonic inquiries from both internal and external clients.

• Provide outstanding Special Authorization service while adhering to established turnaround timeframes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary qualification in health services or a medical-related field (e.g., Pharmacy Technician diploma, Medical Office Administration certificate/diploma), or relevant work experience.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of pharmaceutical names.

• Understanding of pathophysiology would be advantageous.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently within a team setting.

• High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and ideally Access).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Capacity to handle the demands of heavy workloads and frequent changes.

• Team-oriented with a strong service mindset and responsiveness to customers.

• Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Willingness to work occasional weekdays until 5:00 pm, as well as on weekends and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.

• A satisfactory criminal record check is required as a condition of employment after a conditional offer.
