This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Offer compliance advisory assistance regarding consumer finance and payment regulations.
• Monitor and fulfill Compliance Operations, Advisory, and Financial Crimes Compliance tasks using established workflows and evidence standards.
• Conduct second-line oversight reviews for high-risk complaint management and assist in analyzing complaint trends and root causes.
• Keep issue/action logs, verify remediation plans and evidence, and track aging until closure.
• Evaluate initiatives for compliance implications, control preparedness, and necessary approvals or escalations.
• Perform pre-use compliance assessments of marketing and customer communications, identifying disclosures and risks such as UDAAP and fair lending.
• Aid in product development compliance evaluations and maintain risk/control documentation.
• Assist with third-party compliance efforts, including conducting due diligence, tracking contract requirements, and ongoing monitoring.
• Support BSA/AML transaction monitoring, review alerts and cases, and determine dispositions.
• Aid with sanctions/OFAC screening and watchlist management.
• Assist in CIP, CDD/EDD activities, identity-defect remediation, and program control assessments.
• Help with SAR narratives and supporting documentation, coordinating with investigators and escalating when necessary.
• Provide guidance to business, product, and operations partners on financial crimes regulations and control expectations.
• Assist with responses to subpoenas and regulatory information requests, including FinCEN Section 314(a) inquiries.
• Draft written memos and governance-ready summaries for leadership and partner reporting.
• Collect and present information for regulatory reviews, examinations, audits, and supervisory events.
• Support additional compliance initiatives and projects as assigned.
• Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of consumer finance regulatory frameworks, including BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions.
• Experience in compliance operations/advisory, risk management, quality assurance, or control/oversight functions.
• Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Analytical judgment with the ability to propose practical risk-mitigation strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels and providing effective challenges.
• High integrity and sound ethical judgment.
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring, alert/case management, sanctions screening, CIP/CDD, and SAR processes, or ability to learn rapidly.
• Comfortable handling high volumes of data and structured review workflows.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, legal studies, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in consumer finance, fintech, banking, or another regulated sector is preferred.
• CAMS or other financial-industry compliance certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in complaint management oversight, issues management, change management, marketing review, product compliance evaluations, financial crimes compliance, or third-party oversight is highly desirable.
