This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Lead a team of Territory Account Specialists to provide customized customer experiences and stimulate demand.
• Recruit, nurture, retain, mentor, and guide a diverse team to meet strategic sales goals.
• Ensure team accountability, communicate expectations, oversee KPIs, and manage overall performance.
• Guide Territory Account Specialists in resource coordination and planning comprehensive account calls.
• Create and execute customer-focused business plans in collaboration with customer engagement and cross-functional partners.
• Participate in the regional leadership team to support regional objectives, business execution, team development, and culture.
• Cultivate a high-performance, customer-focused culture that fosters collaboration, problem-solving, experimentation, and accountability.
• Enhance team expertise in clinical, access and reimbursement, territory management, and omni-channel marketing tools.
• Utilize analytics platforms to inform decisions and pinpoint risks and opportunities.
• Supervise the execution of strategic in-person meetings, omni-channel resources, total office visits, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Travel extensively within the assigned geography and conduct regular field engagements with Healthcare Providers, Key Accounts, and Systems of Care.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited 4-year college or university.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a first-line sales manager is necessary.
• Leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured sectors with large, geographically diverse sales teams is essential.
• Candidates from medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, or B2B industries are also encouraged to apply.
• Proven strategic thinking and enterprise mindset are required.
• Demonstrated success in attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent while building high-performing, collaborative teams.
• Established ability to drive sales growth, manage cross-functional partnerships, and implement strategic initiatives in complex, multi-regional settings.
• Experience in managing field organizations through periods of change, innovation, or growth is highly valued.
• Candidates must reside within the territory or be within a reasonable commuting distance of 100 miles from the territory border.
• Willingness to travel 60–80% across a wide geography and the ability to drive and/or fly within the territory is required.
• A fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license is mandatory.
• Experience in leading sales teams targeting large practices, hospitals, IDNs, and Systems of Care, with knowledge of outpatient and inpatient reimbursement is desirable.
• The Area Business Leader II position requires a minimum of 4 years of first-line sales management experience.
• The Senior Area Business Leader position requires at least 8 years of first-line sales management experience.
• The company will not sponsor visas for this role.
• Internal Sales Associates may qualify if they have successfully completed Novartis ELDP or possess 2+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales management experience within the two years prior to joining the company.
