Airport Site Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer technical and project management assistance for commercial airport projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Act as the site lead/project manager for site surveys and validations, risk assessment and mitigation, coordination, communication, reporting, drawing reviews and comments, construction management and oversight, schedule development and monitoring, permits, subcontractor supervision, installation oversight, test witnessing, and project close-out.

• Oversee assigned airport projects, which include design support, statement-of-work bid packages, construction supervision, site/equipment layout assessment, witness testing and checkout, site cleanup, and restoration.

• Manage 5 to 7 projects simultaneously across various lifecycle stages.

• Direct the daily activities of geographically assigned teams comprising 2 to 10 site technicians, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and/or local general contractors.

• Enhance communication among TSA HQ, local TSA, airport stakeholders, operations management, contractors, TSA vendors, airport authorities, and government officials.

• Perform requirements analysis; review design drawings, specifications, and deliverables; support connectivity construction, installation, and acceptance testing; and oversee site cleanup and remediation.

• Monitor project timelines and communicate potential delays or modified plans.

• Create agendas and facilitate conference calls, including ad hoc, weekly, integrated project team, and installation-readiness meetings.

• Record meeting minutes and distribute them to the team.

• Provide updates regarding information, schedules, status reports, and future planning to Leidos, TSA, and stakeholders.

• Assist the TSA SEDS program in maintaining, upgrading, and transitioning airport security systems to next-generation capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 6 years of experience; eight additional related years may substitute for a BA/BS degree.

• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in construction management, including 2 years in an airport setting.

• Proven project management experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders on a single project.

• Proficient in planning and developing design alternatives and solutions for construction projects.

• Management experience overseeing field personnel and subcontracting firms.

• Experience resolving compliance issues with federal, state, and local authorities regarding design specifications.

• In-depth knowledge of airport construction practices, processes, standards, floor loading, electrical infrastructure, seismic requirements, and rigging complexities.

• Familiar with the Checkpoint Requirements Planning Guide (CRPG) for checkpoint operations.

• Ability to work independently within a cross-functional team.

• TSA vetted, either currently or in the past.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% to assigned airport locations.

• Flexibility to work non-standard shifts, including evenings or weekends, as needed.

• Desired: B.S. in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management.

• Desired: TSA field experience at checkpoints, baggage handling, or security outposts.

• Desired: Management experience in Transportation Security Equipment deployment in the Central Region of the United States.

• Professional certifications such as Licensed PE, PMI® PMP, or General Contractor License are advantageous.

• Familiarity with MS Project or other scheduling software.

• Capable of coordinating assignments and managing multidisciplinary technical and project management teams.
