This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist the Principal AI/ML Engineer.
• Enhance space simulation and facilitate AI advancement for the USSF client.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, modeling and simulation specialists, product owners, and program managers.
• Aid in the development of artificial intelligence models crucial to a broader pipeline.
• Create advanced AI solutions for space superiority analytics, multi-domain operations, joint service requirements, and operational necessities.
• Assist in force structure planning, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and space systems research and development.
• Construct software from source code for various platforms utilizing different compilers.
• Create acceptance, integration, and unit tests.
• Innovate new capabilities by leveraging existing libraries.
• Engage in software design meetings and code review sessions.
• Manage issue backlog and board maintenance.
• Provide inputs for execution plans and status reports.
• Draft user and developer documentation.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Currently pursuing a Master's degree with over 50% of required credits completed.
• Interest in Space Operations.
• Strong technical writing abilities.
• Eagerness to tackle challenging problems.
• Willingness to learn new programming languages (e.g., AFscript).
• Knowledgeable about agent-based and event-driven simulators.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language.
• Familiar with Git, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.
• Willing to learn and contribute insights related to AFSIM.
• Prior internship or work experience within the Air Force Research Laboratory is preferred.
• Capability to obtain a security clearance.
• Travel requirements of 0–10%.
