AI/ML Internship, Engineering Intern 4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist the Principal AI/ML Engineer.

• Enhance space simulation and aid AI development for the USSF client.

• Work collaboratively with AI engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, product owners, and program managers.

• Contribute to the creation of artificial intelligence models that are essential to a larger pipeline.

• Develop advanced AI solutions for analytics related to space superiority, multi-domain operations, and joint service requirements.

• Provide support for force structure planning, Joint Combatant Command analysis, operational assistance, Space Force testing and training, and space systems research and development.

• Compile software from source for various platforms utilizing different compilers.

• Create acceptance, integration, and unit tests.

• Innovate new capabilities by leveraging existing libraries.

• Engage in software design meetings and participate in code reviews.

• Manage issue backlog and board upkeep.

• Supply inputs for execution plans and status reports.

• Produce user and developer documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree with over 60% of the required credits completed.

• Interest in Space Operations is essential.

• Strong technical writing abilities are required.

• Eagerness to address challenging problems.

• Willingness to learn new programming languages (e.g., AFscript).

• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is necessary.

• Preferred: Familiarity with agent-based, event-driven simulators.

• Preferred: Proficiency in at least one scripting language.

• Preferred: Experience using Git, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.

• Preferred: Openness to learning about AFSIM, a C++ based modular object-oriented, multi-domain, multi-resolution modeling and simulation framework.

• Preferred: Previous internship or work experience with the Air Force Research Laboratory.
