This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist the Principal AI/ML Engineer.
• Enhance space simulation and facilitate AI development for the USSF customer.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, product owners, and program managers.
• Aid in the development of artificial intelligence models that are essential to a broader pipeline.
• Create advanced AI solutions for space superiority analytics, multi-domain operations, and joint service needs.
• Support force structure planning, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations, Space Force testing and training, as well as space systems research and development.
• Build software from source for various platforms utilizing different compilers.
• Develop acceptance, integration, and unit tests.
• Create new capabilities leveraging existing libraries.
• Participate in software design meetings and conduct code reviews.
• Manage issue backlogs and boards.
• Provide inputs for execution plans and status reports.
• Produce user and developer documentation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with 20% to 40% of the required credits completed.
• Interest in Space Operations.
• Strong Technical Writing Skills.
• Eagerness to address challenging problems.
• Openness to learning new programming languages (e.g., AFscript).
• Familiarity with agent-based and event-driven simulators.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.
• Willingness to gain insights into the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM).
• Prior internship or work experience with the Air Force Research Laboratory is preferred.
