This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement comprehensive AI/ML and generative AI solutions throughout the entire lifecycle.
• Create scalable, secure, and governed AI/ML architectures tailored for enterprise data management, cloud-native services, distributed computing, and high-performance workloads.
• Develop and launch production-ready solutions for large language models, intelligent search, workflow automation, model evaluation, monitoring, and optimization.
• Integrate enterprise AI and cloud services with data platforms, security controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
• Deliver solutions in areas such as natural language processing, computer vision, predictive analytics, intelligent search, multimodal AI, and mission-focused applications.
• Design secure APIs, integration services, data pipelines, and orchestration workflows.
• Act as the AI/ML technical authority for cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Oversee architecture reviews, AI readiness assessments, performance benchmarking, and infrastructure trade-off analysis.
• Establish MLOps, LLMOps, and ModelOps practices for testing, deployment, monitoring, lineage, rollback, and cost optimization.
• Define responsible AI controls covering privacy, IAM, key management, audit logging, PHI/PII handling, explainability, model cards, bias/risk assessment, human oversight, and guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists.
• Convey complex AI concepts through solution narratives, architecture diagrams, demonstrations, and executive-ready materials.
• Support solutioning by shaping technical approaches, estimating delivery patterns, and contributing to client responses.
• Travel to NIH at the applicant’s expense for onboarding if selected.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience.
• Practical experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud-native data architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed data processing, data governance, machine learning lifecycle management, and batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Proven experience in developing, deploying, and supporting AI/ML and generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with intelligent search, LLM applications, workflow automation, model serving, evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with modern machine learning and deep learning frameworks, libraries, and tools.
• Experience in designing, deploying, and managing AI/ML solutions in one or more major cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud-native AI services, identity and access management, networking, security, and infrastructure.
• Experience handling large, complex, sensitive, or regulated datasets.
• Proficiency in data integration, migration, quality management, analytics, visualization, and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain a Tier 3 Public Trust clearance.
• Must be a US Person.
• Currently, no security clearance is required; no clearance is needed beyond the stated Public Trust.
