AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive development of the MVP mobile application, prioritizing iOS.

• Create fundamental product workflows: Design and execute a clean, minimalistic, and emotionally responsive user interface.

• Establish a structured AI interaction framework (going beyond basic chat interfaces): design and enhance prompts, manage tone and response quality, and oversee memory and conversational state.

• Ensure that outputs are insightful, perceptive, and contextually aware.

• Develop and sustain a lightweight backend (such as Supabase): handling authentication, session and memory storage, and content saving systems (“What stays”).

• Integrate subtle interactive elements (motion, pacing, transitions) that enhance product experience.

• Conduct testing across actual devices and prepare for releases (e.g., TestFlight).

• Rapidly iterate based on product feedback while upholding clarity and restraint.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in developing mobile applications (preferably with React Native or Expo).

• Strong product-oriented mindset with a history of building products from the ground up (0 → 1).

• Practical experience working with large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI or comparable technologies.

• Profound knowledge of prompt design and iteration, structured outputs, conversational flows, and state management.

• Ability to design AI interactions that are intentional, specific, and avoid generic responses.

• Experience in delivering production-ready applications and conducting tests on real devices.

• Strong appreciation for product quality, including user experience, tone, and emotional sensitivity.

• Capability to work swiftly while maintaining focus and preventing overengineering.

• Proficiency in English (C1 level or higher), both written and spoken, with excellent communication abilities.

• Nice to have: Experience in developing AI-first products, familiarity with backend tools like Supabase or Firebase, experience with animations (e.g., Reanimated) or AI-assisted design processes, exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), and knowledge of Swift or other mobile frameworks.
