AI Engineer – Ruby on Rails

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Designing and developing product features that leverage AI/LLM assistance.

• Integrating LLM APIs within Ruby on Rails applications.

• Merging AI techniques with business logic, including tests, fallbacks, and production safeguards.

• Taking ownership of features from technical design through to production deployment.

• Enhancing reliability, accuracy, consistency, latency, cost-efficiency, security, and maintainability.

• Authoring and upholding automated tests, such as unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Troubleshooting production issues and progressively refining system behavior.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in building with AI/LLM technologies, beyond casual use of AI tools.

• Extensive Ruby on Rails expertise, preferably at a senior level.

• Sound judgment regarding when AI is advantageous and when simpler engineering solutions are preferable.

• Strong backend skills encompassing databases, API design, performance, background jobs, and security.

• Capability to decompose ambiguous challenges into clear technical solutions.

• CI/CD, background job management, or AWS experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with text processing, localization, translation, or multilingual product development.
