AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and construct multi-agent systems from start to finish: encompassing planning loops, sub-agent delegation, memory, and context management that operate similarly to an experienced operator in live settings.

• Create the tools and capabilities for the agents: ensuring they are clean, safe, and composable, alongside Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that enable agents to query data, conduct analyses, and execute tasks reliably.

• Deploy AI agents as scalable backend services while adhering to our established development and security standards.

• Work closely with Data Scientists and domain experts to transition agents and models from initial concept through to production.

• Constantly enhance, assess, and optimize agent behavior in production utilizing evaluation harnesses and guardrails.

• Convert customer requirements into effective and scalable AI solutions.

• Design and implement secure APIs, real-time streaming backends (SSE, WebSockets), and various backend components.

• Develop and manage data access layers and pluggable data sources with a strong emphasis on customer data isolation.

• Maintain high standards of quality, performance, and security.

• Contribute to the development of technical specifications and architectural decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Python and backend development (e.g., APIs, services).

• Practical experience in constructing LLM agents: including tool/function calling, multi-step orchestration, structured outputs, and memory and context management (utilizing frameworks like Pydantic-AI, LangGraph, LangChain, or CrewAI), along with MCP (Model Context Protocol).

• Strong design sense in agent tools and interfaces: focusing on how capabilities are defined, secured, and composed (this aspect is of utmost importance to us).

• Familiarity with API/backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) and real-time streaming.

• Proficient in SQL and adept at handling large datasets.

• Comprehensive understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and software security.

• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and container-based architectures is advantageous.

• Fluency in front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, Tailwind) is a plus.

• Knowledge of time-series machine learning, forecasting, and anomaly detection is beneficial.

• Proficient in English and at least B2 level in German.
