Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Create and develop automated workflows, encompassing both deterministic (rule-based) and probabilistic (model-driven) approaches.

• Execute agent orchestration patterns, including planning, tool usage, evaluation loops, and error recovery mechanisms.

• Design and support APIs and backend services that enhance AI-driven functionalities.

• Construct retrieval and grounding systems aimed at knowledge search and context enhancement.

• Engage with both structured and unstructured data to facilitate AI applications.

• Develop evaluation frameworks to assess and monitor the quality of AI systems.

• Formulate testing strategies tailored for non-deterministic AI systems.

• Oversee cost, latency, and quality trade-offs within production AI systems.

• Partner with Backend, Data, DevOps, and Product teams for collaborative efforts.

• Deploy, supervise, and sustain services in live environments.

• Participate in system design and contribute to technical decision-making processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level engineering experience (generally 4+ years) in backend or software engineering, with a strong preference for Python.

• Proven experience in developing AI-powered applications in production settings (beyond mere prototypes).

• Familiarity with LLM APIs, context engineering, and patterns for AI integration.

• Knowledge of agentic patterns, such as multi-step orchestration, tool invocation, and state management.

• Experience in retrieval and grounding systems (RAG, semantic search, knowledge retrieval).

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including API design, system architecture, and databases.

• Experience in data processing and handling both structured and unstructured data.

• Understanding of cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.

• Proficiency with Docker and CI/CD processes.

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to take initiative and work autonomously.
