This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Perform initial evaluations of psychiatric and medical requirements for new referrals related to psychiatric and substance dependency admissions.
• Offer virtual assessment services through phone triage and patient evaluations.
• Assess patients facing acute crises and decide on the appropriate level of care.
• Conduct mental status evaluations when an involuntary hold assessment is necessary.
• Identify the most suitable level of care and patient placement based on the severity of the illness.
• Provide guidance on illness management and self-care strategies.
• Recognize resources, consult, and refer patients when appropriate.
• Utilize the nursing process, physician collaboration, and established telephone nursing guidelines and protocols.
• Ensure efficient operations, deliver quality care, and promote favorable patient outcomes.
• Identify unsafe or emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Safeguard each patient’s protected health information.
• Foster collaborative relationships with peers, physicians, nurses, administrators, and the community.
• Must be a resident of Utah, Idaho, Arizona, or Montana.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Must possess a valid RN-Registered Nurse license in the state of residence.
• Must be able to obtain a California Registered Nurse license before starting the role.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in mental health.
• Preferred: 2 years of practical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency department.
• In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing protocols, regulations, institutional care standards, risk management, disease processes, emergencies, health sciences, and pharmacology.
• Advanced understanding of medical diagnoses, procedures, protocols, treatments, terminology, and relevant state and federal regulations and guidelines.
• Strong analytical and project management abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic medical/health records.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to identify unsafe or emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and protect confidential health information.
