Adjunct Faculty – Graduate Nursing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate and guide impactful learning experiences that align with the curriculum outcomes, while actively supporting all aspects of the learning environment.

• Deliver education through learning-centered methodologies that prepare graduates to meet the changing demands of the marketplace.

• Foster a culture of education that emphasizes mutual accountability and respect, lifelong learning, diversity, ethics, and both personal and professional development.

• Ensure that the South University philosophy of providing quality service to students, promoting development, engagement, recognition of employees, and fostering an innovative and positive work environment is integrated into the responsibilities of this role.

• Engage in initiatives that enhance the reputation of the academic programs, departments, and colleges while adhering to the mandates set forth by the South University Board of Trustees and administration.

• Deliver competency-based education that aligns with the South University curriculum model and supports the institution's system of delivery.

• Create and implement instructional plans that fulfill course competencies, develop activities that support lesson objectives, and deliver instruction as sanctioned.

• Facilitate the attainment of defined exit competencies for student success and assess learning by providing instruction that promotes competencies while establishing performance criteria and evaluation methods for students.

• Provide learning-centered instruction by cultivating a classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success, alongside effective class planning and preparation.

• Support student achievement by demonstrating flexibility in teaching style and schedule, displaying a passion for education, and actively involving students in the learning process.

• Oversee the learning environment by maintaining accurate records, submitting grades and reports punctually, and enforcing academic and attendance policies of the school/campus.

• Contribute to a culture of learning by participating in curriculum and system task forces, supporting local campus events such as orientation and graduation, and attending various workshops and meetings.

• Connect professional, life, and industry experiences to learning through ongoing development of professional/technical skills, integrating industry perspectives into courses, and maintaining active awareness of industry trends and opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• DNP or PhD in Nursing with FNP certification is mandatory.

• One to five years of experience in instructional or formalized educational settings, preferably within a post-secondary or collegiate institution.

• Experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is highly preferred.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to cultivate successful relationships with student populations.

• Strong conflict resolution skills.

• Proven time management and attention to detail skills.

• Proficient computer skills, including software, analytical, and report writing capabilities.

• Ability to maintain required office hours and respond to student inquiries and administrative requests within designated timeframes.

• Capability to complete the New Faculty Orientation and any other mandatory training (e.g., Code of Conduct) through South University. (For Online Positions Only).

• Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, engaging with students online five of seven days during the online week.

• Readiness to attend meetings as required by the respective department.
